US-7C Ultrasound Unit - Canine
Ultrasound is the fastest way to repair soft tissue injuries and as such is the primary tool for all trainers. Ultrasound stimulates the repair of muscle strains, tears and helps break up bruising. The TGS US-7C is the greyhound owners favourite and is specifically for use on small animals such as dogs. We have sold and service many of these units as they are durable, cheap and most important they do the job. We service these units ourselves and we know just how reliable they are. These units come with a free 500ml bottle of ultrasonic gel. TGS US-7C Ultrasound Features
TGS US-7C Ultrasonic Specifications
TGS US-7C Greyhound UltrasoincThe TGS US-7c is a small ultrasound unit made for greyhounds and other small animals. The crystal inside vibrates 1,000,000 times per second. This vibration is far above what we can hear, but it’s strong enough to reach about 2.5 cm into the tissue. Since air can’t carry this energy well, you always need a liquid between the crystal and the greyhound's skin. Ultrasonic gel works best for conduction. Creams or oils might seem like a good substitute, but they can cause the crystal to overheat and oils can damage the cables and make them brittle. Important: Keep the crystal face in contact with the animal’s skin the whole time the output is on. If it loses contact for more than 30 seconds, the energy that should go into the tissue will be absorbed by the crystal itself and cause permanent damage. Medical machines have auto shut-off features, but those don’t work well with animal hair. With a little care, your TGS crystal head and handle will give you many years of reliable use. How does Greyhound Ultrasonic treatment work?Ultrasound has been used for over 60 years to help heal soft tissue injuries in both humans and animals. Ultra sound treatment works in three ways: thermal, mechanical and chemical. All of this happens at the cellular level, so you may not see any changes on the outside during treatment. Think of ultrasound as a deep micro-massage. The tissue might feel slightly warm after treatment, but it should never feel hot. If the tissue or the crystal feels hot, it could be from too much power, losing contact, using the wrong gel or coupling medium or the crystal may have been damaged. Why use ultrasound therapy on racing greyhounds?Because of the demands of racing, these animals often get muscle and tendon injuries, as well as joint inflammation. Ultrasound can shorten healing time and help trainers keep the animal fit. It also works well alongside magnetic field therapy, photo therapy and muscle contractors for many injuries. TGS US-7C Greyhound Ultrasound Treatment UnitThe TGS US-7C is a reliable tool for greyhound ultrasound treatment, designed specifically for greyhounds and other small animals. The crystal inside vibrates one million times per second, far above what we can hear, but with enough power to penetrate 2.5 cm into tissue. Because this energy cannot travel through air, a liquid is needed between the crystal and the skin. Ultrasonic gel provides the best conduction. Other creams or oils might work, but they can cause the crystal to overheat or, in the case of oils, make the cables brittle. It is essential that the crystal face stays in contact with the animal’s skin whenever the output is on. If it loses contact for more than 30 seconds, the energy meant for the animal will be absorbed by the crystal, causing irreversible damage. Medical machines often have automatic shut-offs, but that feature has proven impractical with animal hair. With a little care, the TGS crystal head and handle will give you many years of reliable service.
