Our antenna cable wall plate kits are comprised of a standard size wall plate (the Mini Kit is a standard Mini size) with FME insert. They are easy to fit as cable connection is via screw on FME connector on to the rear of the wall plate. Use these wall plates to finish off your antenna installation with a professional look.

Do you have a Netgear Nighthawk M1 Mobile Router? Are you experiencing slow or patchy internet speeds, even when your mobile router is in the perfect position? Then you will be in the market for a Netgear Nighthawk M1 antenna and patch lead.
You probably purchased the Netgear Nighthawk M1 from Telstra because you heard that it was the world's fastest mobile hotspot. And this is true! But if you have a weak signal where you live, or where you take your mobile broadband hotspot, then you're simply not going to achieve great speeds, because the hotspot can't see the nearest mobile cellular tower very clearly. This is when you experience slower speeds, or even drop outs or dead zones.
The good news is, that you can pick up a clearer signal with the right antenna and a patch lead to connect up your Netgear Nighthawk M1 to the antenna. While the Netgear Nighthawk M1 Mobile Router has its own inbuilt antenna, with a bigger, better one attached, you can get a bigger, better signal!
There is a wide variety of antennas that you can purchase for your mobile broadband router, and each is a little bit different. Some will receive a signal more strongly than others, some can be placed in different spots to others, and some have a different method of finding signals than others.
When choosing an antenna, you want to first make sure that it is working on the same frequencies as the Netgear Nighthawk M1. If it is not, the antenna won't work with the router. The Netgear Nighthawk M1 Mobile Router works on the following frequencies: 3G/850/LTE/4G 700/900/1800/2100/2600 MHz. Make sure that the antenna you're looking at purchasing is compatible before you click that Buy button!
Antennas can be omni directional, or directional. Omnidirectional antennas are those which pull in a signal from all directions - you don't need to point the antenna anywhere. Directional antennas work best when pointed at the strongest cellular tower signal in the area. For instance, if you want an antenna for your car, then you'd definitely want an omnidirectional antenna (unless you're putting in multiple antennas), whereas for your house, for a fixed antenna, a directional antenna will probably be more effective.
The next thing that you'll need to take a look at on the antenna is your gain - this will be expressed in decibels, or dB. For an omnidirectional antenna, these are generally a fixed gain of up to 7dBi - because they receive signals from all directions at the same strength. For directional antennas, however, this figure increases. Generally, the higher the gain, the better the antenna will receive the signal (from the given direction).
Directional antennas may be a little tricky to position. Taking your time and checking your internet speeds while you make adjustments can really pay off.
Next up, what mount do you want for your antenna? If it's in your car, or at home and you don't fancy getting up on your roof, you might choose to go for an on-glass antenna. You can easily pop this one in your bag and take it anywhere with you, too - be it to the office or holiday destination. Then you have a range of desktop antennas, also handy for in the home when you'd still like it to be portable or don't want the hassle of installing. Magnetic antennas are temporary antennas that you can use in the car, etc. There are also bull bar mounted antennas for a fixed car solution. For the best permanent in home or office antennas, you have directional, building mounted antennas.
Sorted out which antenna is the right one for you? Now you'll need to pick out a patch lead, so you can connect your antenna up to your mobile router. You can either get a single lead patch cable, or a dual lead patch cable, if you're choosing to use two antennas at once. The patch lead itself may not be long enough to reach from the mobile router to your antenna, which is why you can also purchase extension leads for antennas, which are great especially for building mounted antennas.
